Thanks for purchasing one of our Motorcycle
Tunes Audio Systems. Our instructions are as written to be as simple
as possible.
You will need the below tools:
·
5/32 Allen Wrench
·
Electrical Tape / Shrink Wrap
·
Wire Cutters
1.
Unpacking: Unbox all items and make sure you have all
items on your parts list (see attached page)
2.
Mounting the Speaker Clamps: Get an idea where you want to
mount the speakers. Mount the clamps to your bars. They will tighten
up when the speakers are installed.
Important: Make sure the speakers will not interfere with
your steering, or gauges.
3.
Mounting the Speakers: Mount each speaker to the clamp and
make sure they are secured tightly. Run the speaker wires down to
where you are going to mount the amplifier.
4.
Amplifier Power Plug Hook Up: Find a place where you want to
mount the amplifier. Before you Plug the Amplifier Power Plug into
the amplifier, make sure that the power to the amplifier is turned
OFF. Take the black (ground) wire and run it to either your frame,
or the negative battery terminal. Take the Red (Power) and Orange
(Power) wires, twist the two wires together and wire them a fused
power supply. The Orange and Red wires have to be hooked to the same
power wire. Some common power supplies are, fuse box (most bikes
have an accessory spot), and the headlight wire. The power supply
for the amplifier needs to turn on and off with the key or with a
toggle. Now you can plug the amplifier Power Plug into the
amplifier.
We recommend that the amplifier turns off with the key, to
prevent a dead battery.
5.
Amplifier Speaker Plug Hook Up: Make sure the power supply to
the amplifier is turned OFF. Plug the Speaker plug into the
Amplifier. The grey wires go the left speaker and the green wires go
the right speaker. The wires on the speakers are either Gold and
Silver, or a solid color and a color with a stripe.
If the wires on your
chrome speakers are Gold and Silver
Gold = Positive speaker wire
Silver = Negative speaker wire.
If the wires on your chrome speakers are a solid color
and a color with a stripe
Solid Color = Positive
speaker wire
Color with a Stripe = Negative speaker wire.
You
will need to hook the speaker outputs from the amplifier to the
corresponding chrome speaker wire.
6.
Amplifier High Plug: You will not use the High input on the
amplifier.
7.
Amplifier Low Plug: You will find a 6’ black cable with a
earphone jack on one end and a (RCA) Red/White Plug on the other
end. Plug the Red and the White ends into the Low input of the
Amplifier. Run the other end of the wire up to where your device is
going to be, and plug it into the earphone jack of your device.
8.
Amplfier Filter Setting: Make sure the switch is in the OFF
position.
Make sure that all
wires are away from hot areas, and that everything is secured to
your bike.
Before your turn
on the power, make sure that your devices volume is turned down. You
can damage your speakers/amplifier if your device is at full or loud
volume when the amp is turned on. You will always want to start off
with a low volume and build up to a louder volume. This will prolong
the life of your speakers/amplifier.
Everything should
now be hooked up correctly. You can now use the speakers.
When you first listen to your device, you
will need to adjust the Level on the amplifier to where the
audio sounds best.
