A: Unpack radio and remove the shipping screws

B: Open Front push release (Fig.2) and attach front panel

C: Identify wires in harness

· I recommend getting some Wiring conduit, heat shrink tubing, and crimp on wire connectors and crimping tool.

· Wiring diagram of motorcycle, Clymer manuals have this.

· Multimeter
· Soldering Iron, and electrical rosin core solder
· 14g or 16g multi-stranded core wire (recommend at least 2 different colors of wire)
· Electrical Tape
· Cable ties
D: The Ground, Memory and Power wires will have to be lengthened; there are several ways to do this:
Solder on 14g or16g wires then use the heat shrink over the connectors or use electrical tape.
Insulted wire connectors.

I recommend soldering and using heat shrink tubing.
E: Put Ground, Power, and Memory Power wires in Wire Conduit
Run Wire Conduit from radio over to battery area:

F: Locate an Ignition wire, this can be verified by using the multimeter and tuning the key off and on

when located attach radio crimp on a wire connector
G: Crimp onto the Memory Power and Ground wires a Wire connector that the screws of the battery will go thru and attach to battery

H: Mount remote bracket if that’s how you want to mount it.

2 cable ties were attached together in order to be long enough to go around snap in remote mount.
I: Run Wired Remote cable in Wire Conduit to mounting area of the remote, find a place to coil up excess cable.

J: Mount Speakers and run their Wire Conduits

recommendation - run a wire conduit from radio area to where the conduits that came with wires stopped.
K: Connect speaker wires to radio harness,

recommendation – use crimp-on connects. To save on the rat’s nest of wires I taped the 4 wires for the front speakers together and did the same for the rear.
L: Connect antenna to radio (the hideaway diopole antenna can be in the saddle bags also)
optional rear speakers:
· I got a walkman type set of headphones with the 3.5mm connector and a extender cable for the headphones with the 3.5 jack on one end and the 3.5 mm plug on the other.
· I cut the jack off and stripped pack the wired and wired it up to the rear speakers.
· Cut off or detach the ear pieces from the head set and put a piece of double back adhesive pad on the back

and put in ear area of helmet, if you helmet has a flap that may cover this area you may want to cut it off.

· Tuck the excess wire under the padding and live a couple of feet of the cord out to plug into the jack.
M: Done
